I went out a little earlier this morning (7 am) with Abby instead of heading out between 8 and 9 am. At the edge of the sandy field adjacent to the marsh out behind, there was a pair of Vesper Sparrows. They were not singing, but just seemed to be walking around, perhaps looking for something to eat or just checking out the area.
I could hear a Brown Thrasher singing also. I could not locate it on the way out, but coming back I saw it perched at the top of a Cedar Tree singing and singing. Brown Thrashers nest in the scrubby area out behind our fence for the past couple of years..
