On Saturday, I drove out to Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge. This is a huge refuge that is only about 30 minutes from our RV Park in San Benito. The only issue in getting there, is the roadway. The roads to this refuge are notoriously bad. They are full of huge potholes and force you to drive slowly. This is probably a good thing in a way because the refuge is home to the very rare Ocelot. There may only be about 30 of these cats left in the United States. And every once in a while you read about one getting hit by a car near the refuge.
There are also some very interesting birds that make their home in the refuge. I had fun taking pictures of the Green Jays and the Olive Sparrows.
