Since arriving, Paul has been suffering. On the way down, he discovered that a piece of his hearing aid had become lodged in his ear. We could not say anything, because he did not want to jeopardize his trip, and he did not want his wife to worry. So between birding jaunts, he was at the audiologist, at emergency, at an eye, ears, nose and throat specialist. Nothing was working, it was not until this morning that he found a specialist in Weslaco who was able to remove the piece from his ear. He has been in a lot of pain. But today, he is rejoicing. He feels great and he is able to continue with the trip. If they could not remove it today, he was going to head home and get it worked on there.
But all is well. Carol was his nurse and took him around to all the places for his ear. She took him to Weslaco today.
While he was having it worked on today, the rest of us, went to the Valley Nature Center and Frontera Audubon in Weslaco. The lifer they got today: Bronzed Cowbird.
Tomorrow we are going to do some more birding.
