Went for a 2 hour drive down to the Melbourne area again this afternoon. After the very strong winds yesterday, I was interested in what might (or might not) be in the area. It was still a little breezy. And cold. But there were only traces of snow left along side the roads in places.
I saw a Kestrel, 2 or 3 Rough-legs, and 2 Red-tails. No Harriers were spotted today and no eagles, either. And also missing were Horned Larks and Snow Buntings.
I just took my time, slowly cruising the backroads. It was a good way to spend a few hours.
