This morning, driving into London, I noticed an adult Bald Eagle perched in a tree right at the side of Egremont Drive. Around here, Bald Eagles are becoming less and less rare. Yet, spotting one here, still elicits a pang of excitement. Certainly this is not a bird that I get to see every day. In fact, I probably haven’t seen one since this spring, other than at Hawk Cliff, earlier this fall. Several years ago, eagles nested in Hyde Park, just a few miles from the one I saw this morning. That nest no longer exists. Perhaps there is another one in the area. That would be nice.
