As I thought about what I might do today, I had the Pinery in mind. I thought it would be fun to head there, rent a kayak and spend a few hours in the water. But I got surfing on the net, looking at destinations for a bird trip next year. Next thing I knew, most the morning was gone. So instead of the Pinery, I headed over to Clark Wright Conservation Area. Today is bright and sunny, so I figured there would be some butterflies about. And I was right. I counted 5 Eastern Commas, 4 Pearl Crescents, 3 Milbert Tortoiseshells and numerous Cabbage Whites, Clouded Sulphurs and Orange Sulphurs.
I put my Hummingbird feeders out first thing this morning, but so far I haven’t noted any hummers around today. None since Sunday.
The rest of the week is pretty booked.
For now I am going to take my book and a lawn chair and sit out back beside the water feature and read.
Ham and scalloped potatoes for supper. Yummy!!
