Saturday evening in Kalamazoo (actually Sherman Lake, a.k.a. Kim and Omars)

11 Jul

I have been waiting for these pictures to get moved from Carol’s iPhone to my computer so I could include them in this post.

On Saturday, the 5th, Carol, Bailei and I drove off from my sister’s place to visit with our friends, Kim and Omar.  They live on Sherman Lake, not far from Kalamazoo.  I have known Kim since we were little kids growing up on the east side of Kalamazoo.  And I have known Omar for probably 20 years.  Last year they drove up to Strathroy and stayed with us for a visit.

That is Kim on the right and Omar on the left.

They have a very nice place and spend a lot of time landscaping.  Their property slopes down to the lake, with the garage at the top near the road, Well-manicured gardens.surround the garage and then there is some lawn between the garage and the house.

From their living room, you can look out across their deck to the lake.  We had a great supper (thanks Kim and Omar) of BBQ’d sausages, home-made potato salad and straw-berry pie for dessert.  YUMMY!!!!!

This picture is a little dark, but you get the idea. After supper, they took us out for an evening ride in their boat.

Bailei went swimming from the boat out in the lake.  The lake itself is quite clear, with a sandy bottom.  After the boat ride, we went back up to the house and visited some more until almost dark.  A couple of years ago, on a previous visit, Omar gave me a thrill by pulling me on an inner tube behind the boat.  Thought that it would just about be the end of me.

Not bad for an old fart

Not bad for an old fart

Thanks Kim and Omar.  Until next time.
