We left the trailer behind this morning. Good-bye San Benito. Good-bye Fun N Sun. Good-bye Bird and Butterfly Garden. Good-bye Easy Street. By the time we ate breakfast at IHOP, it was 10 AM when we pulled away from Harlingen. The road was in good shape, no construction. About 3:45 PM, we were in the outskirts of Houston. Traffic picked up considerably. Highway 59 thru Houston. WOW. You have to be good a changing lanes. The signage is not the best. At least this time thru, it was not pouring rain. We continued northward and arrived in Texarkana, Arkansas at 8:45 PM. 618 miles. A dog-friendly La Quinta. We have only stopped for gas and a pee-break (twice) between Harlingen and Texarkana. We have ordered a pizza and we are now waiting. We ran into road construction and a thunder-storm when we were about an hour outside of Texarkana.
Tomorrow we are hoping to get to the other side of Louisville, Kentucky.
