This morning I went for a walk at Joany’s Woods with Pete Chapman, Larry Cornelius, Paul Carter and Harvey Johnson. We had a target bird we all wanted to see. A BARRED OWL. Pete had seen it there a couple of weeks ago. We were about 15 minutes into our walk when the owl was seen. It was sitting on a tree branch and gave us excellent views before flying off. There was very little other bird life to be seen.
On the way home, I did happen to see a NORTHERN SHRIKE sitting on wire at the intersection of Seed Road and Townsend Road.
It was a great morning.
