2040 hrs – busy day at work

Busy day at work.  Glad to be out of there for the day.  Probably head to bed early.  Tired.  Want to just lay in bed and read.  Hope my readers had a good day and kept themselves busy doing the things they like.

Tomorrow is the Florida primary.  Gingrich or Romney??

1028 hrs – a “me” day

Spent Saturday afternoon installing a new garage opener. Carol’s brother-in-law did the lion’s share of the work.  He does that for a living.  I was just a helper. But we got it done and it works like a charm.

Something happened to me that hasn’t happened for quite some time.  After having problems sleeping again last night, I got up and layed down on the couch. (3AM).  And I fell back to sleep and didn’t wake up until 9:30!!!!!!  WOW.  That was some sleep.

Last day off.  Back to work tomorrow.  Wednesday and Thursday off this week.  Thinking about making a quick trip up to the cabin and back (same day)  Maybe Wednesday.  Weather forecast looks good.

Today I think I will just relax and get some reading done.  Listen to some music.  Just have a slow “me” day.

0901 hrs – i want to get it done

Had my eye examination in Sarnia yesterday.  The way our health care system works, OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Program) pays for one eye exam every two years, unless you have some kind of eye disease (like cataracts-which I have) in which case eye exams once a year are covered.  My cataracts are not serious enough to warrent surgery yet.  But for monitoring purposes, my optomitrist wants to see me once a year.

After my appointment, I stuck around the Sarnia area area and surveyed the St. Clair River for wintering ducks.  I added a few to my year list.  When Bailei got out of school, I picked her up and brought her back to Strathroy.  Her birthday is next Wednesday and we are going to invite some of her Strathroy friends over this weekend to share in some birthday cake.

Last night, I took Abby out for an hour-long walk.  We both got our excercise.  Very glad I took the walk.  The effort was worth it.

Last night I had trouble sleeping.  My carpal tunnel was REALLY acting up.  Both hands and all fingers were driving me crazy.  I got up several times.  (The discomfort goes away when I am upright – I don’t really understand why that is!!)  Finally, at 3:30 AM, I got up and turned on the TV and watched a travel show (quite interesting actually)  Then I dozed in the chair until it was light outside.

Going to install my electric garage opener today with the help of my brother-in-law.  A little cold for that kind of work, but I want to get it done.

1003 hrs. – hoping to head out

Another quiet evening at home.  I am just about finished with my book.  A strange one to be sure.  It is a book like this that makes me wonder just who it is that picks the winners of the PULITZER PRIZE FOR FICTION.

I am tired.  Dozed off on my lunch hour today.  Going to head to bed soon.  Need a good sleep.  Looking forward to tomorrow.   Hoping to get the chance to head out with my camera and binoculars and maybe add a bird or two to my year list.

0728 hrs – quiet evening

As I was headed home from work last night, there was a light snowfall.  We didn’t get alot of the snow, just a dusting.  But it should make for a good feeder day.

Quiet here night.  Gathered up the garbage and recycle and got that out.  Watched a little TV and read thru some blogs.

0725 hrs – more on SNOWY OWLS

There are certainly more SNOWY OWLS south of their normal territory.  Here is an article that appeared in the New York Times recently that speaks to this amazing event.

2300 hrs – hercule poirot

When I work days, I usually get home around 8:20 PM.  Tonight, the house was empty when I got home.  Carol was still in Sarnia.  She spent the day with her daughter, Catherine and did get home until late..  They went shopping in Port Huron.  Meanwhile, I watched election returns.  (South Carolina primary).  Gingrich came out on top by a pretty large margin.  Gingrich scares me.  Not sure exactly what this means for the state of the election.  But it sure makes it interesting.  Then I watched a  Poirot murder mystery.  I love those Poirot mysteries.
